At VetkinTape®, we offer kinesiology taping courses for horses and dogs. Our primary objective is to educate our students on the importance of the Medical Taping Concept and its numerous benefits for veterinary purposes. We take pride in providing top-tier educational training together with our instructors that draws on the expertise and feedback gained from our human MTC courses. In addition, our instructors are highly skilled equine or canine practitioners who specialise in applying the Medical Taping Concept (MTC) for animals.

Our courses are tailored to meet the needs of veterinarians, therapists, and licensed animal physiotherapists. Each course spans two full days, comprising of both theory and practice sessions. The course venues are spacious, providing ample room for hands-on exercises. Our course material is comprehensive and includes videos, pictures, and real-life case studies. As part of the course package, VetkinTape® provides a reader, rolls of VetkinTape®, scissors, and other necessary supporting materials.

Why you should follow a VetkinTape course

By following an animal taping course, you can gain valuable knowledge and practical experience in using the Medical Taping Concept (MTC) for horses and dogs. Our courses have been developed in collaboration with experienced equine/canine practitioners who have veterinary physiotherapy experience and other professionals in the Animal Health industry. Completing VetkinTape® course

On completion of the animal taping course candidates will have learned about:

  • The basics of taping
  • Theoretical background of the Medical Taping Concept
  • Various application possibilities:
    • Activating the blood and lymph circulation to treat swellings and hematoma
    • Influencing the fascia and muscles
    • Treatment of scars
    • Tendon injuries and inflammations
    • (follow-up) Treatment of injuries to the Musculoskeletal System
    • Improvement of muscle function
    • Supporting joint function
  • Case histories and applications for animals relating to the following conditions:
    • Injured muscles – to lift the skin from the underlying tissues. This has the effect of reducing pain and stimulate circulation.
    • Assisting in the reduction of any swelling and enhancing the blood flow to the injured area.
    • Biomechanical dysfunction – to provide support or stability without restricting the range of motion.
    • Postural dysfunction – to improve the proprioceptive feedback to the area thereby assisting in the retraining of muscles to maintain correct posture.
